...Taking a GingerBreak...

...well, that sounds pretty bad, but...there's NO way y'all are getting rid of me THAT easily!
I'm just gonna be out for a week on a business trip to...Atlantic City, of all places! Heading out EARLY tomorrow morning...so, hope all of y'all out there have a great week, and I'll catch up with y'all upon return (I honestly have no mobile devices in which to communicate with y'all...) ...I'll be back on 10/5, so...heck, a WEEK from now... As such, I'm posting the 'Day in Gingerology' for ALL of the days I'm out... for your information, of course...

...also just received the 'official' e-mail noting that WB Archives now has 'Vivacious Lady' available as an 'on demand' DVD... see the last post for the link... here's the E-mail banner, which is pretty dang cool:
...remastered... sounds promising!  Not sure how you 'remaster' a movie from the late 30s, but... sounds good to me!

And of course, TopHat is still out there in need of The Huey Treatment... so plenty of stuff for Huey to do upon return... SO, until then...

Keep It VERY Gingery, y'all!!!

  1. Great news, although I own two British release dvd's already, I might just go for one of these if I can get it off Amazon. Mine are beautifuly clear, so they must have been remastered. I think it's a great idea to only release on demand. I noticed you can get SOM, LP, HAWT this way as well.

    1. Hope you can get these as needed, Elaine! WB has done a great job of allowing 'access' to these GingerFilms!

  2. Elaine--I see the WB release is now available on amazon. If you spring for the remastered copy, please post and let us know how the quality is. I have an Odeon DVD5 in PAL format, and whereas it's nice, it's not as sharp and clear as the releases of Top Hat et al. which got more loving care.

I've been very disappointed that some of Ginger's films are just reproduced and not remastered....especially my favorite Bachelor Mother. I'm hoping Vivacious Lady gets better treatment.

    PS... HI HUEY! :)

  3. ...HI, LADY F!!!! WHERE have you BEEN??? It's awesome to 'read' you! Hey... post some stuff over on FaceBook... it's pretty 'free-form', of course, and there's always plenty of GingerTalk afoot... you would be a MOST welcome addition to the proceedings, of course :-)

I am trying to figure out the blogger 'hiccups'...seems like there's stuff here which isn't working, most notably the 'text' editor... BLAH!!! Hopefully it will be resolved....

    Until then...DON'T be a stranger!!! :-)

    KIG!
