2017 is underway for Gingerologists...

..HI, y'all! Hope everyone has recovered from the holiday season, and is getting back into whatever groove you typically reside in... pretty coolish here in South Gingerville - low of 14 tonight... yow!!! Good thing Ginger is ready...

...as for Gingerology in 2017, there's quite a few things afoot...

FIRST, I know most of y'all are aware, but just in case...

The First Annual (hopefully) Ginger Rogers Day Festival is ON for 2017, in Independence, Missouri!!!
 
Gene and Marge Padgitt of Three Trails Cottages, LLC have been tirelessly renovating the 110-year old birth house of Ginger for the last year or so, and will have things ready to tour for the Festival on July 15-16... for more info, including how you can contribute to the cause, please visit (and JOIN / LIKE) "The Ginger House: Birthplace of Ginger Rogers, Independence, MO." on FaceBook, which has lots of great info on how the renovation process has gone... there are more specifics to come on the Festival (which I'll call GingerFest for short) on that page, which I will definitely echo here on G-ology... should be an AWESOME event!

SECOND, check out the popular PBS "Antiques Roadshow" towards the middle of February thru the First part of March, 2017... Roberta Olden, Ginger's longtime personal assistant, had an interesting piece of Ginger's furniture appraised by the folks on the show... a chair which 'telescopes' out into a stepladder-type deal, for use in the library... here's a few pics (thanks MonicaKelly!):

THIRD, a little closer to home, Hu is going to get some 'changes' going on G-ology...most notably, more POSTS! There's a LOT of topics I have wanted to transcribe here, but just haven't had the time... and, if you know me, I am pretty 'deliberate' when it comes to compiling a 'major' post... so... no promises, of course, but... the goal is to be more prolific, and to add some more features... including adds to the GingerFilm blogs...SO... stay tuned...
