...Y'all have a great Easter!

...from all the fine folks at Gingerology... here's hoping the reason for this holiday is truly understood by everyone... and no, it's not REALLY about bunnies and eggs... although Ginger appears to be fixed pretty well for the fur-bearing critters... and, before anyone asks, no, the "Friends of Ginger Rogers Society" no longer exists...well, check that...it has just 'morphed' into (what else) ...Gingerology!!!...thanks to 'e', who (I'm pretty sure) dug up this awesome GingerPic!

...keeping with the 'Spring Theme'... again, most of y'all are well aware of this, but for our 'newer Gingerologists', here is the wickedawesome...
...Ginger Rogers rose!!! Pink, of course, which was Ginger's fav color... so now you know - and if any of y'all happen to be into the 'rose scene' (I have an Uncle and Aunt who were quite big into roses...competitions and all...but they've kinda 'hung it up' the last few years... and no, they never had THIS particular one...dang it!) - please reply with any info you may have regarding this cool flower... I'd love to have one of these plants - although I am NOT the green thumb at ALL, y'all...

...well, it's hard to believe we are staring April in the face... as you know, not my fave month, if only for it's when we lost Ginger... but there's been a few bad happenings within this month over the last few years, namely the tornado outbreak that hit us back in 2011... but I'm hoping the 2013 edition of the fourth month will be uneventful... but it's already starting up, with pollen here in South Gingerville...dang that stuff latches inside yer snoot...blah!! Here's hoping y'all aren't having the same trouble as I am with that...

AAANNNDDD...hope everyone has been active in the 'Favorite Classic Actress' Tournament over at Monty's ALL GOOD THINGS - The 'FINAL FOUR' is ongoing...looking like a finale between Carole Lombard and Bette Davis... so if you haven't yet...go VOTE!!!
I'm wanting to set up a few things here, as usual... but I won't get into detail, as I'm not sure when time will allow... it seems like weekends are more time-consuming than weekdays... family time supersedes all, of course, but... hopefully April will have more posts, at least... along with the next GingerFilm review, 'Star of Midnight'...it's still a bit weird to see Powell without Myrna in a 'whodunnit', but again, if ANYONE can 'sub' for Nora, it's our girl, right?

Hope everyone has a great, safe, and reflective Easter Sunday...

KIG, Y'all!!!

  1. While I would LOVE to take credit for finding the awesome pic of Ginger with the giant Peter cottontail, I can't. It is a great picture but it isn't mine. It is a wonderful thought that the Friends of Ginger Rogers Society lives on in Gingerology :) Does anyone have any back issues of their newsletter that we can read over?

Happy Easter to you and yours and all the Gingerologists out there.

    1. ...well, shoot...maybe it was Kat... hmm...I should really write this stuff down somewhere...

But I would REALLY like to find some of the info from that society, as well!
      Maybe this was from eBay...hmm...

Onward to April, which will hopefully be at best non-eventful...here's hoping!

      KIG, 'e'!!!

  2. That would be amazing if the 'Friends of Ginger Rogers Society' existed still. I've heard of it a few times in the past. Wouldn't any remaining copies that someone decides to sell be SUPER expensive unfortunately?

I remember seeing that flower on here awhile back, it if very pretty! Although I am not so good with plants either-so that's out of the question!

Oooh, Carole vs. Bette. That is one tough decision as they are both great in their specific genres. I am going to have a hard decision which to pick over there.

Hope you guys are having a great Easter! :)

    1. ...maybe some will show up...

...after a bit of googling, I came up with this from Vivian's awesome blog:

      http://viviantalksgingerrogers.blogspot.com/p/chapter-14-16.html

...scroll WAAAY down to where the Castles are doing the Missouri Waltz,,,a mention of FOGRS (?) occurs...sounds like there are available copies, but at what price? oof...

...I need to go check out the proceedings over there on the tourney... it's pretty much a foregone conclusion Carole will win, as it should be... although Bette will have her day...

Hope your Easter was great, GF!

      KIG!
