...A nice day for Ginger in the blogosphere...

...well, July 19, 2012 has quite a bit of Gingeryness to it, in the ol' blog-o-sphere!

I found no less than FOUR posts from various blogs which pertains to Ginger in some form or fashion...each one dated July 19, 2012!!! Well, heck...guess I better add my entry to this list, right? :-] ...here we go...
First, I found this awesome post from one of our own G-ologists, Dawn, from her stellar blog 'Noir and Chick Flicks'...it's all about Ginger's Decca recording of Alice in Wonderland...the full audio is provided via YouTube...it's really a special rendition, with Mel Blanc adding to Ginger's perfect recitation...

Dawn's Post of Ginger's version of Alice In Wonderland

Thanks, Dawn!!!

Next, we have a post from Art at Classic Cinema Images (he had me at the 'header pic'...about as awesome as you can get w/o Ginger involved...) - he posted a few of those spectacular pics of Ginger and the feathers...not the feather DRESS, mind you...just...the feathers...and not much else... unless I missed something, the scene where she ...er, 'utilized' these didn't make the film...or is someone just playing a cruel joke on me by cutting out that part from my 'copy' :-/   Art's site has quite a few Gingery posts...go check it out...

Sitting Pretty, indeed...

Thanks, Art!!!

Thirdly, we have a clip of "I'll Be Hard to Handle" from the film Roberta - and posted on the "music clip of the day" blog... a neat concept by its author, Richard... I have thought about doing this for NBABOH, but... eh, maybe later on... anyway, here's the link...I couldn't get it to play, but my machine (this is the OLD one I'm on) just isn't picking up videos, for whatever reason...

I'll Be Hard to Handle...

Thanks, Richard!!!

...and lastly, a VERY neat post from Mark L Champion, who sheds new light on the power that can be drawn from one of the all-time classic songs from the GandF catalog, "The Way You Look Tonight" Music by Jerome Kern, lyrics by Dorothy Fields...something tells me this one would touch Ginger, and everyone else involved with that tune...

...The Way You Look Tonight...

Thanks, Mark!!!

Well, that's all the links I found on THIS day, July 19, 2012...lots of Gingeryness afoot...it does Ol' Huey's heart good to see folks discussing and just celebrating Ginger and her incredible body of work, which takes on quite a few forms - films...music...dance...spoken word...photos... and it's just amazing we still have access to so much of it... y'all keep up the great work!!!

KIG, y'all!!!

  1. Good stuff! I always love finding these posts scattered throughout the Interweb.... Plus, you never know what pics may come up!

  2. ...yeah, it's just cool to know other folks are out there talking Ginger... which may result in new stuff being unearthed, as you mention... one can hope!

KIG, Ron - have a great weekend!!

Awards...Thanks, Y'all!!!
