...Ginger Trivia, Round Six (a.k.a.,"What's in a Name?")

Greetings, one and all!!!

Sorry it has been awhile since the last post...been busy with the typical holiday issues, as it seems everyone else is...but we are almost completed! Hope you have had success in finding what you were looking for!

Well, this is a 'milestone' post for G-ology...#50! So, I figured I would try to combine two of the more popular aspects of this blog for the special occasion...Trivia, along with Ginger Pix!!!

The topic of this round of trivia deals with names (maiden names, 'aliases', etc...) generally for characters Ginger played, but one or two 'real life' questions as well. As usual, DO NOT look at the Comment Section until you are ready for the answers, because that is where they are... the pictures match the question, or at least I hope so...Good Luck!

QUESTION ONE: What was Roxie Hart's maiden name?

QUESTION TWO: What was Linda Keene's (Shall We Dance) actual name?

QUESTION THREE: What was Irene Castle's (The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle) maiden name?

QUESTION FOUR: What was Susan Applegate's (The Major and The Minor) middle name?

QUESTION FIVE: What was Dolley Madison's (Magnificent Doll) maiden name?

QUESTION SIX: What was Carol Corliss' (In Person) "incognito" name (first and last)?

QUESTION SEVEN: What was Lela Rogers' maiden name?

QUESTION EIGHT: What was "Anytime" Annie's (42nd Street) last name?

QUESTION NINE: What was the only movie Ginger made that she did not have a 'real' name, but just referred to by a 'nickname'?
QUESTION TEN: There are nine movies where Ginger's character has their first name and last name start with the SAME first letter...name as many as you can (4 is fair, 5 or more quite good, over 5 excellent...) - note - "Anytime Annie" does not count, since "Anytime" is not a proper noun... and PS, Question Six is a mulligan, just to get you started...

See Comment section for the answers....
Thanks!

  2. Very fun....hard, but fun! ;) I have a horrible memory for such things so I went straight to the answers, hahaha. There's still so many of her movies that I've never seen, and probably won't unless TCM plays them because they're not available on DVD (or even VHS).

  3. ...Glad to hear it, Gingerella! I would have had a bit of trouble answering them before researching all of this...I started thinking about it when watching Roxie, and they called her folks to tell them she was in prison...they called her dad 'Mr. Wadsworth' - though that would make a fair trivia question, and took it from there...

Hopefully TCM will show some more of the 'older' ones...they had a day back last spring where they showed 7 in a row - most of them 'pre-Fred' movies... it seems that they are on a G&F yen...the Thanksgiving thing was cool, but looks like they are going to repeat it in March...hmmm...wonder if that has anything to do with the rumor that WB is supposedly releasing the G&F movies on Blu-Ray soon? Might be...

  4. I majorly failed this... I hope that isn't an omen for things to come! But anyway, in reply, I decided to comment on each q&a. X means I got it wrong, and a check is correct.

    1. X. That was my friend's cat's name.
    2. X. I remembered Fred's, but not hers.
    3. ✓.
    4. ✓. I've seen this movie so many times, I even have it on my phone.
    5. X. Only saw this once, and I was busy concentrating on her hair.
    6. X. Nope. Did not remember! I've only seen this once before I sent the DVD to someone... But Colfax is a street near my high school. Shoulda remembered!
    7. X. This must be a sign that I need to get cracking on Ginger's autobio.
    8. X. I didn't even know she had a last name.
    9. X.
    10. X. So 4 is fair, and 2 would be plain crappy. Or 'poor.'
I remember thinking about how many alliteration names she had, but I couldn't remember a lot.

The day I get all 10 of your trivia questions is the day you get grass to grow on the slope of the front yard.

  5. Well, thanks for tryng, Lauren! Honestly, a lot of these would be tough for me if I wasn't the one prepping them! But it is a long journey into Gingerology, and one must be patient and savor every nugget of knowledge obtained along the way...
