HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, Y'ALL!!!

...from all the good folks here at the staff of Gingerology!!! :-)

...of course, Ginger's ma Lela was a VERY big influence on her life, and as such, here's a 'roughly chronological' series of pics of them... some of these are pretty familiar to y'all, others, maybe not so much...
These are pretty dang cool...of course, the 'Oscar' pic would be SO unbelievably cool to own (it was an actual print on eBay, and ONE of y'all out there have it now...grrrr...) - and yeah, it's my favorite, since it captures a LOT of what Ginger is all about...well, hope y'all have a good one!

KIG!

  1. Ginger had a wonderful, loving relationship with her mother. Not that I'm trying to play "can you top this" (you can't, and shouldn't, with mother-child relationships!), but so did Carole...

Happy Mother's Day to every mother out there.

  2. ...cool info there, VP! IO probably should sit down and 'document' the events of Lela in regards to Ginger's affairs... not sure how much she 'delved' into her marriage stuff, but obviously had SOME influence...

    KIG - AND Carole-y, VP!

  3. Those are wonderful pictures, Huey. Just like Ginger, Lela is ageless. On pic#5, Lela actually looks younger than Ginger. I hope I will be lucky enough to age like that! :)

  4. Lovely post and great pictures, Huey! Ginger certainly learned from Lela, particularly to be strong and stay true to her convictions.

VP -- That's a very nice, interesting post on Carole and her mother. Well done.

  5. MB: Lela did 'age gracefully'... I of course love her role in 'The Major and The Minor'...already one of my faves, that aspect just elevates it into 'high cotton', on the overall GingerScale for her films...

LF: Yep, I concur... sometimes Lela gets a 'bad rap' as a 'stage mom', but I think that was somewhat exaggerated...I think she let Ginger make her own decisions, but was also there for guidance when needed... whatever the case, I think the end results of Ginger's career speaks for itself, WHOMEVER was 'in charge'...
