  1. Hiya, thanks for checking out my GInger blog! Your comments are really fascinating! You and I are in total agreement as far as Rafter Romance, and I'm glad you approve of my scale :P. I do like Rafter Romance pretty highly of her pre-Fred movies. I dont particularly rate any of the 1934 ones (except the Gay Divorcee!), the highest in my ranking being 20 Million Sweethearts in position 41 out of the 54 I've seen !! Having said that, I've yet to view Upperworld (whcih as Ginger dies, I'm apprehensive about,). My favoutrite pre Fred movies are probably Rafter Romance (Position 22) A Shriek in the NIght, and Professional Sweethearts(23), for Ginger as a star, though I adore 42nd street, where I honestly think Ginger shines in every scene she's in!

    All the best

    Beth xx

  2. ...wow - sorry I haven't responded before now to this, Beth! Honestly, I just am not as 'well versed' in 'doing' a blog!
...I was wondering about how many of the 'Elusive 14' have you found? I think we talked about 'The Confession/Quick...Married' movie, which I think you have seen - but I have recently ordered a few from eBay - 'Harlow', 'Oh Men-Oh Women', and 'Sitting Pretty', which I think you have found as well. But they may honestly be unwatchable (in quality of the physical media, that is...although 'Harlow' will most likely be mediocre at best...) Hope they turn out to be ok in all aspects.

  3. P.S. - I really like 42nd Street, too - 'Shuffle off to Buffalo' - when Ginger is eating an apple while singing! Just too cool...I just wish they could have also put 'We're in the Money' in 42nd Street... GoldDiggers of '33 just does not have Ginger doing much after that intro tune we all know and love!
Anyway, I also 'posted' one of my favorite Ginger pix on the main page...not sure why it is so big... anyway, that one is just so different, and the way she is staring straight into the camera, it is pretty mesmerizing...and the best I can tell, this is from "the Gay Divorcee", by her hair style and dress... although I am most likely wrong...
