...Gingery Odds and Ends...

...hello, all! Well, it's been a few, but glad to be back in the Gingerology Community!

...where have I been, you ask?  Wellllllllllllll......

...CHICAGO! Well, the 'outskirts' of Chi-town, anyway... stayed in Tinley Park which is south of town... I had some training classes at my company's Chicago office for a few days. and while I didn't find Roxie (grrrrrr...), I did have a pretty good time otherwise, even with all the hassle of flying (Hu is NOT a major fan of airports... the flying part is OK, except for the ear-popping, but the screening deal is a mess...) ...ANYway, it's good to be back in south Gingerville and catching up on FB with fellow Gingerologists... and with that, I've learned a few things...

FIRST, some sad news... Jacques Bergerac, Ginger's fourth husband, died on June 15th at the age of 87. And although he was unfaithful to her, which is completely unforgivable, he DID win her heart, and she seemed to truly love him...so we have to give the dude props for that. But overall, I've always been pretty jaded about their relationship, as I just felt he used her to try to get his acting career advanced... which I guess kinda worked, although he wasn't ever a BIG star...but I guess he did well enough...

SECOND, some better news...Magnificent Doll is soon to be available on DVD and Blu-Ray! August 19th is the date, but it can be 'pre-ordered' at Movies Unlimited, which is a pretty good avenue for GingerFilms - here's the link:

...this is one of three GingerFilms made on the Universal Studios lot, with the other two being "Don't Bet On Love" and "The Groom Wore Spurs"... DBOL could stand a clean-up, but 'spurs' is in fair shape.  ANYway, MD is a pretty well made film, although there are questions as to its 'historical accuracy' (which most ALL historical films are guilty of, if anything to move a plot along...), but Ginger does very well in it, and is just...PERFECT in it...SO incredibly beautiful... and the cast includes a few of her old buds, David Niven and Burgess Meredith. It's worth it, of course, just to see Ginger floating around in those colonial gowns... awesome!

...and THIRD, well... still looking to pin a few folks down for "GingerThon"...remember, ANY topic may be discussed...no minimum or maximum length. If you want to just send me an e-mail with a Word file or whatever, great... just PM me over on FB.... I guess I need to be a bit more 'pro-active'... any thoughts would be helpful... the pic above is simply awesome, BTW, in case you haven't noticed...

...and with that, we're (somewhat) up-to-date. Hope to yak with y'all...er, I mean, "youse-es" (I learned that in Chi-town...classic!) over on FB...it seems everything is moseying over there...but G-ology will always be here in SOME form or fashion... no doubt!

As such...

KIG!!!
