...no more... well, at least the one which showed classic 20th Century-Fox films... a sad thing, since Fox Films / 20th Century Fox is second only to RKO in number of GingerFilms produced. Ginger made a few early ones at Fox Films, such as Broadway Bad, where she was Joan Blondell's sidekick:
...Hu is a bit sad... but Miss Rogers says it'll be alright...
It IS pretty awesome that a year or so Fox released a lot of Ginger's classic films for the studio, which of course Hu purchased... and of course holding out hope that Hat Check Girl will find its way to DVD - although it's SO cool that we at least now know that it not only EXISTS, but has been restored!
Ginger had quite a few of her 'latter' films at the studio, including one of my faves of hers on the 'screwball' side, "Monkey Business", with Cary Grant...BTW, for those of y'all who don't know, Tina Louise named her character on Gilligan's Island after these two...Ginger Grant! Here's those two now - Ginger in a ponytail is so cool...
But as for the 'Fox Movie Channel', which is now FXX or something like that, it's been removed from the 'GingerFilms' page, which now only includes good ol' TCM... with that, if there's a channel out there which I'm missing, that shows GingerFilms, PLEEEEEZE inform me of it, and I will gladly post on here - note the schedule for the channel, and I'll keep up with any GingerFilms which are scheduled to air...and this includes 'non-U.S.' channels, such as BBC, etc...
Maybe Fox will 'revamp' things and get back to airing 'classic' films from their archives... if not, we may just send Rox over there to straighten them out!
...well, hope y'all were able to record any GingerFoxFilm you didn't have... and maybe it at least made you aware of a few more of Miss Rogers' films. Fox can redeem itself mightily with the DVD release of Hat Check Girl... right?
Hope y'all are having a great year thus far...
KIG!!!
Hu
