Merry Christmas...

...to all you Gingerologists out there! Hope that Ho-Ho gets y'all ever what ya need this Christmas... And y'all have a happy, safe, and reflective Christmas weekend, and of course, remembering the TRUE reason for the season...
Here's just a neat little pic I have had hanging around - not sure what the deal is, except that Ginger is hanging onto some type of big, stuffed varmint, which could very well be connected with Christmas... dang, I wish I was a varmint! :-]

Anyway, I HOPE to be getting some stuff set up for G-ology 2011... the 100th Anniversary of Ginger's Birth! It's gonna be a great year, y'all... my Gingey senses are telling me so...

In the meantime, y'all go check out some awesome recent posts by PinkGinger at ClassicGal, and of course Ms. OGRE (Katie) over at Objects Of my Obsessions, where she has dumped her pic stash onto one humongous post! Merry Christmas, indeed!!!

Once Again, Have a great, big, honkin' Gingery Christmas, y'all!

KIG!!!

  2. Merry Christmas (what's left of the day, anyway) to you and everyone at Gingerology.

Interesting that 2011 is Ginger's centenary and that she's four months younger than Jean Harlow. For some reason, that never quite seems to register in the popular consciousness.

That is pretty interesting! I'd say Ginger and Jean Harlow are very different types and Ginger's fans are different from Jean Harlow's fans. It's just a question of philosophy, how people want to live and which moral they prefer. Harlow often plays negative roles, with negative characters. Tell me who your favorite actresses are and I tell you who you are -- just to formulate it simply. It's very common that "nice" girls despise "naughty" girls, as "naughty" girls despise "nice" girls. Some think nice behavior is ridiculous, others consider naughty behavior impossible. Ginger's "sassiness" is actually not very naughty and harmless compared to Harlow.

I once compared Marlene Dietrich to Jean Arthur. The result was two different worlds. Interesting that I always disliked Dietrich, even before I knew Jean Arthur. No wonder those two actresses were bitter enemies, since Dietrich treated Jean arrogantly.
