...HAPPY GINGERTENNIAL + 10!!!!

...Well, another GingerYear has passed, and it's been 110 big ones since our girl entered this ever-changing world...  ...hard to believe it's also been three years since the Ginger Rogers Festival (a.k.a. GingerFest 2018) in Independence, Missouri!  Perhaps we can all get together again one of these years and have another great time of Gingeryness...

...the next best thing IS occurring, tho, as Marge Padgitt is doing a ZOOM presentation / virtual tour of the Ginger Birth House this Sunday from 3-4 Central Time... hopefully folks have that info, but if not, here's the link ($10.00 fee):

Ginger Virtual Festival 2021

I sadly cannot participate, as I am VERY 'backlogged' with work... good problem to have, but a bad thing when it comes to wanting to do something gnarly like this... I'm positive it will be a great experience for all who partake, and hope y'all have fun!!!

With that, I need to get back on the work detail... but hope all you Gingerologists out there have an incredibly Gingery day celebrating the life of our incredible Ginger Rogers!!!

KIG, y'all!

A DOZEN YEARS of Gingerology!!!!

...more or less! It's pretty bad when you have to get your Blogger password 'recovered' because you forgot it...  with that, just happy to note that this blog is still here, although VERY dormant the last few years.... Hope y'all root though the 'archives' of it and find some cool stuff here and there...

At the end of the day, the concept of a 'blog' appears to be a 'journal' that documents an arc of time... I think I have accomplished that with Gingerology, as the initial intent of this blog was to seek out all of Ginger's films, and obtain them if at all possible... over the years that followed, many of her films have been released on DVD, with only a few still available via 'non-traditional' avenues... and even the elusive Hat Check Girl was accounted for, even though few of us (read: ME) have been able to view it (still waiting for that Atlanta TCM Festival, y'all...)

----------

So, with all the films accounted for, another cool but ultimately bittersweet adventure was the saga of the Ginger Roger's birthplace in Independence, Missouri...  the place was getting quite creaky, as most century-old buildings are wont to do... enter the Padgitts, who stepped in and TOTALLY did what I was dreaming of doing (somehow), by giving the old place a TOTAL renovation top to bottom... Marge and Gene are Gingerology Elite, whether they know it or not, for their herculean efforts.  Alas, the museum could not survive, but from reports, the house is currently owned by a Ginger fan who lives there, so that's an happy ending!

(pic courtesy of Christine McDonald... thanks, C-Mac!) - always thought it was cool they used one of the G-ology 'header pics' for this poster...

----------

...but the last few years, I have had quite a bit of activity, as I have started my own business! It as overall been a tremendous blessing, but of course takes up QUITE a bit of time...  THAT is where G-ology has suffered, sadly (hence, VERY few posts for 2020, which may be just as well, as it was not a joyous year - hope that all of you out there have recovered in all ways and are back to life!)  My whole philosophy of this blog is that posts should be of value, or at least carefully thought out (this current soliloquy is generally a rambling rant of sorts, but bear with me) - in other words, TIME and RESEARCH has to be put into a post, otherwise it really isn't going to mean much - well, ANYthing Gingery is awesome, but... you know. . BTW, if interested, my business is JHW Plan Review Services... HERE is a link... it's not too Gingery, tho...  Perhaps I should hire an Administrative Professional to assist me with day-to-day issues regarding my biz... ...remember, ANYONE can TYPE!!!

----------

SO, with that, here is hoping I can find some time here and there to do some things... again, I have had quite a few 'ideas' over time for posts, but they will take TIME...  again, here's hoping.  The FaceBook groups are all rumbling along so well, it truly seems like blogs are a thing of he past... I have kicked around doing a Gingerology FaceBook Group, but, when I see the great things already in FB, it would be pretty hard to add meaningful content.  Again, this is a major ramble, so let's just wrap up by noting that I am truly grateful to all who have followed and contributed to G-ology over time, and my hope is to get things going again one of these days... until then, THANKS for 12 years, and...

Keep It Gingery, y'all!!!
