...hope all is well!

...with my fellow Gingerologists!

We have had some roughness in the Huey Household the last week or so... a very aggressive stomach virus hit all of us...nuff said. As usual, I was the 'last in line' to get it, and I am somewhat recovered, but still a bit 'groggy'... so... anyway, we're all on the mend...

...as for news regarding GR, well...I guess one of the interesting events coming up here is that I will be contributing to Margaret Perry's 'blogathon' over on her great Kate Hepburn site! It should be pretty cool...I think I will zone in on the Ginger-Kate scenes only, and maybe even their 'overall' relationship, as there's another person reviewing Stage Door 'proper'... info on the blogathon is to the right...just click on Kate...and, if you feel adventurous, sign up for a review there!

I will get back into reviewing Gingerfilms here soon (maybe this Stage Door gig is what I need to get 'jump-started')... no real excuse, so get ready!!! Again, not sure about the 'mega-screen-caps' HueyTreatment at this point, since, let's face it, the films coming up will have MONDO Ginger face time...um, not a BAD thing, duh, but a time-consuming one... which kinda delays the whole process. So, I'll just put out the 'main review', and throw in a few 'small cap sequences' here and there...just to keep the spirit of that alive. And once the reviews are finis, THEN I could go back and create some 'full-blown' 'HueyTreatments'...which i truly LOVE to do, so... again...stay tuned.

Until then, hope to see y'all over on FB!

KIG!

It's OFFICIAL!!! Hat Check Girl is...

...on the docket for the 2014 TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood!!! This link goes to the schedule - see 'Chinese Multiplex 4', at 8:00 P.M. - Saturday, April 12, 2014!!! FINALLY something cool happens in APRIL!!! Click the HCG box on the schedule to get a description...

...that's AWESOME, INCREDIBLE, EARTH-SHATTERING news!!! ...even tho... from Huey's current locale, they may as well be screening it on Neptune... BUT, there are rumors that it may be rolled at the MOMA Festival in NYC as well...which MAY be doable for Hu, but would still be somewhat of a logistics and chronological challenge. Maybe TCM will roll it at a festival in Atlanta or New Orleans or somewhere in the general proximity of South Gingerville...

But, if not, there's a pretty solid likelihood it will make it to DVD in the near future, since Fox put out quite a few GingerFilms in their archives collection a year or so back... and I've been informed that they have merged with TCMshop.com, so... promising, indeed.

Of course, there was a tenacious catalyst behind this eventual grand unveiling...and, she's one of US - Ginger Peachy!!! She has lobbied various parties for quite sometime in order to get this film out in the light of day...encourage the owners to get a restoration of it completed... and to get it rolled at this festival, and hopefully many others! SO, with that, she has assumed the title of GingerologistSupreme, which is... well, generally just means she is infinitely   AWESOME!!! :-)  So, if ya get a chance, stop by her blog, or contact her on FaceBook, to give her a great big bodacious THANKS for her hard work and perseverance in bringing home the only GingerFilm we have yet to see!

Well, hope all is well with everyone out there, and hope to be able to post more info, and ultimately a review or three from this monumental screening of HCG when it takes place... so, if anyone out there DOES get to L.A. for it, PLEASE contact me, and I'll turn the G-ology mike over to ya for your thoughts!!!

That's it!!!

KIG, KIG, KIG!!!!

...ERIN GO BRAGH, Y'ALL!!!

...well, it's one of my fave 'observances' of the year, Saint Patrick's Day!
My Grandma's maiden name was O'Connor, so...there ya go.
As for a Gingery connection, well, it pretty much HAS to begin with Kitty Foyle, of course, but Ginger had some Irish in her - 'Katherine' - duh...I'm not great in deciphering the 'lineage' deal, but... just trust me... :-)
Of course, this day is bathed in my fave color, green, and Ginger in green is a VERY grand observance... so here's a few of my fave pix with the presence of green, in SOME form or fashion:

...it appears that there isn’t a heap of Ginger in Green pics out there, honestly... but a few here and there from the GingerFilms in color...the Barkleys in particular has a lot of GingerGreenScenes...

-------------------------------------
...and, there's also the Ginger Rogers rose...

...which was developed in Ireland!
-----------------------------------------------

So, hope y'all all have a safe and happy day!

And in the words of the folks from the Emerald Isle...

Faith and Begorrah, y'all Keep It Gingery!!!

Roberta wins the 'Final Frames' poll!!!

...well, not too surprising... ...after they had just melted everyone with the EPIC 'Smoke' routine, and then the film cuts away to those other folks in the elevator doing something, blah blah, yada yada yada, happily ever after stuff... and THEN returning to the awesome final 'happy dance' that GandF crank out!
But it was interesting that Barkleys didn't scratch at ALL... I thought there were some big fans of that one out there...well, heck, we luv 'em all, right?   Anyway, congrats to Miss Scharwenka and Huck for the poll victory...
----------------------------------------------------------------
...well, it's that time of year again... Monte and friends are cranking up the Fourth Annual Classic Film Actress Tournament, and the field is pretty much wide open this year, as Miss Lombard ran off with it last year...of course, Ginger won it two years back, and Irene Dunne won the inaugural tourney.
SO, y'all go vote!!!! Here's the link to Monte's blog, ALL GOOD THINGS - I'll pin the link to the top of the page here as well....should be fun!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------
As for Gingerology 'production', hope to be getting a few things up and running soon... my 'true profession' has picked up volume the last week or so, so... unfortunately it may bite into some G-ology time...but I'll try my best to get some posts in... and with that, I think I've hinted at this before, but...
...yes, yes, I know, Miss Rogers, More HueyExcuses...

...as to the GingerFilm reviews...they are still in production, but...the 'Huey Treatments' will probably be a bit more rare...they just take up a good amount of time, and time, as mentioned, has been at a bit of a premium lately... but, I'll add more screencaps to the 'review proper', and maybe throw in a brief 'Huey-fied' scene here and there... so should still hopefully be of interest to all.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that's about it for now...dang, hope folks are hanging in there with ANOTHER round of winter... looks like South Gingerville will be 'spared'...heck, we were at 75 degrees today...but the high tomorrow? only 38... but no precipitation issues, so... cannot complain...now, a LOT of y'all have PLENTY to beef about, unfortunately... dang it!

Stay safe, and until next time...

KIG, y'all!!!
