I think it will be neat if she can get to a level that she can 'cut loose', to a point, anyway...
And yes, Bam-Bam will hopefully be 'well-grounded' in the classics... have to keep these alive for future generations... It was great here last night, I was in the 'man cave' watching "All About Eve", and Rebekah was upstairs watching "Singing in the Rain"...Reed was just cutting up in his own rambunctious way, and my wife was in the kitchen cooking all the Thanksgiving delicacies... so there ya go.

Hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving, CS!!!

VKMfanHuey
---VKMfanHueyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17360524951726605370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5415650234964664192.post-58941141896339949322010-11-24T15:47:03.751-06:002010-11-24T15:47:03.751-06:00Yes, I think so too: Bam-Bam will always compare o...Yes, I think so too: Bam-Bam will always compare old stuff to new stuff. And he will see which movies lead to a cozier world. In many other families kids are told: "Bah, that's old-fashioned" - not cool at all. And as you're very open in many directions, not forcing things too much: I'd say it's a cinch, that Bam-Bam is going to find old films cozy.

You're right, a flat heel is good for walking. But not for tapping: If the heel is absolutely down on the floor, it gets in sort of dead end. It's easier to pick the heel up again, if it's resting a little higher. You get your heel much faster up again, to do fast heel-taps. The footwork is much more relaxed. Heel-taps are probably the last thing the audience will notice, but they're very important for fast rhythm phrases. Of course it's possible to tap with a flat heel, as Fred's male generation did. But it's definitely a bit harder.Clarissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18391428399392889593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5415650234964664192.post-50078592766108062682010-11-23T22:30:27.245-06:002010-11-23T22:30:27.245-06:00SG - COOL! can't wait for the pics... did you ...SG - COOL! can't wait for the pics... did you clip off a bit of the turf for souvenir? I figure they re-sod each year anyway, and after the football game, the current turf is toast anyway... I go for a shoe with as little heel as possible, since I am already 6-5 or so, and then there's that coordination issue...:-P I'm gonna have to take a HEAP of lessons before I trip the Light Fantastic with Miss Rogers in the Great Beyond... :-]VKMfanHueyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17360524951726605370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5415650234964664192.post-56444619439265490172010-11-22T16:56:50.343-06:002010-11-22T16:56:50.343-06:00Yes, I payed a little "SWELL" for Bam-Ba...Yes, I payed a little "SWELL" for Bam-Bam, because it's a vintage phrase and vintage phrases always do good to vintage people.

Bam-Bam is vintage already ... this is kinda' ennobling. ;)Clarissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18391428399392889593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5415650234964664192.post-39395317624595317182010-11-22T16:45:57.235-06:002010-11-22T16:45:57.235-06:00Why, I always have at least one pic to show. You get used to that after a few trials.

On the contrary I'd say, Fred's heels are a little too flat. But of course these are the typical heels for men during the 30s. So they had to do.

Well, I think those would be much more comfortable:

http://ideal-tap-shoes-for-men

http://ideal-tap-shoes-for-dames

A flatter heel isn't really good for relaxed tapping.Clarissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18391428399392889593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5415650234964664192.post-89812217186048759952010-11-22T07:40:13.553-06:002010-11-22T07:40:13.553-06:00Yeah we got to go on the field. He is doing well now, just having to take Tylenol a few times a day, and eye drops a few times a day as well... but everything is fine - you can tell a big difference already, as he generally 'squinted' a bit out of the affected eye prior to the procedure, but now is...er, 'no-squint'! :-] Which is good, lest he invaribly obtain the moniker 'Popeye'... he's ALREADY 'Bam-Bam'...which I have learned that the actual 'Flintstone' spelling is 'Bamm-Bamm'... oh, well. :-}

Lexie: Thanks to you also for the thoughts and wishes! He has been zonking out at night pretty readily, better on average than before the procedure - so it's been a nice improvement in all respects.
Well, this book is pretty interesting - has some neat lines in it - the fellow who wrote it met Ginger about the time she was doing Kitty Foyle, or soon thereafter, and is a big fan, although, being a movie critic, doesn't really 'sugar-coat' his feelings on some of her movies - but DOES generally like her performance in them.

Fioraon: Also a big thanks to YOU for your kind words! ...as for adenoids, well, with my wife being an RN, she is all up on how those function - well, generally they are not unlike tonsils, in that they are to 'catch' dirt, germs, etc. prior to swallowing them... but adenoids are 'temporary', in that by around age 20, they 'atrophy' and generally disappear...so, most Gingerologists don't have them, or are losing them as we speak... as for the 'removal' process, they were 'cauterized' - (spelling?) - generally 'burned off'...ouch...of course totally zonked out, but would seem to be kina tender or whatever after a few days...he seems to be ok, tho... taking Tylenol - eating pretty much everything! He has not eaten much ice cream yet... guess as you get older that would be cool... my wife had her tonsils out about 7 years ago, and it was ROUGH on her... so if ya still got em' try to keep em if possible - Huey is still 'with tonsils', for the record...

CS: Pictures!!! heh heh... it's weird, I just always have the mindset that you HAVE to have a few pics in order to post... really not the case, tho... but I am digging thru my 'personal' stash of GingerPics, and have a few interesting ones which are not that 'commonplace'... will try to post soon.
...as for the high heels issue, just go watch the 'Never gonna Dance' routine or the 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes' routine, and how effortlessly Ginger flys up and down stairs in those babies... it's amazing to me... not that I would know anything about even WALKING in high heels... no, REALLY... :-}
AND, thanks to you, CS, for your thoughts regarding Reed! He is faring quite well, and is actually a bit better now than before, so the procedure was a certified success!

SG: woah - getting to go ON Wrigley Field? Pretty dang cool! Did they have the football stuff outta there? hopefully so... not sure if they will play there again, unless they can figure out the 'dimensional conflicts'... and yes, post some pics! Did y'all get to go in the 'manual' scoreboard? The procedure(s) went well, tho.

SG - Thanks for the Dinah 'snippet'... I replied to the post over on 'O-cubed'... yep, Ol' Bam-Bam is back running at about 80 percent or better... should be back on schedule by the weekend. My daughter's birthday is tomorrow - we are having her party on Saturday - it is a POOL party, believe it or not... it is all indoors, at the student rec center at the old alma mater (UAB)...should be a pretty fun time. Hope all is well in Chi-town...are you going to the Illinois-Northwestern game at Wrigley? It would be pretty cool, even if ya don't really have a 'dawg in the hunt' (i.e., pull for either team)... but the ESPN folks are already yelling how the endzone is slammed up against the wall, and someone is going to plow into it head first... hopefully it won;t happen. Have a great weekend, SG!!!

VP - Wow - hope you are doing well now! Eyes are just the most scary thing when something goes wrong with them... I was talking to some folks in the waiting room about their child's procedures, and one said their 7-year old son was there for a 'follow-up' for cataract surgery...didn't know you could get those as a child, but evidently you can at any age... and of course there were many very sad stories there, it made Reed's procedure not seem QUITE as bad in comparison...but quite scary nevertheless. Thanks again, and hope you have a great weekend, VP!

Gingeyginge - thanks for the kind thoughts! again, he is doing well and back at close to full speed... hope you and yours are doing well... BTW...waiting for a big post from you regarding the Prince William engagement! It is pretty big news on this side of the pond, but I know it is 'wall-to-wall' there!
