...On the Twelfth Day of GINGER... ...on GINGEROLOGY...

...TWLEVE Drummers Drumming...
...of course ONE Ginger drumming works BEST!

...Ginger didn't limit herself to percussion instruments...

Of course, Ginger could jam out on the piano... HOW cool would it have been to be able to hang out at Ginger's and hear her work the keyboard? There's quite a few spots where she plays the piano in films, and I've always wondered if she was actually playing... for example:
...Young Man of Manhattan... cute as ALL get-out, Miss Randolph...

Queen High... although not as spunky in this particular scene...

The Tenderfoot... she HAS to be jamming out HERE, right? I mean, look at the fingers! Even I can see that, and I'm a music noob!!!

Sitting Pretty... DANG this one needs to get spruced up and on DVD!!!

...well, I'm sure there are others where she tickles the ivories, but... these are all that come to mind... awesomeness, ALL of them!

...what about other instruments? Well, there's a few more Ginger tinkered with...

...I think we ALL need a framed pic of this one... how can a squeezebox be SO ravishing?

Ginger liked to hang out with musicians and writers as well... ...wonder if that's a Rosati accordion? It appears to have some other name on it... Bonus points if anyone out there knows the name of either of these cats...

Ginger could shred, too... check out the reaction from one of her patented 'ukelele power chords' she unleashes on the Stage Door gals... ...the 'scarf cat' is still hiding under the porch...

...of course, Ginger could spin the vinyl as well... there's another job for me... Official Ginger Record Flipper... ...um... ...see, records have music on each side, and when one side finishes playing, you have to turn it over to hear the second half of the tunes on the record... ...hm? RECORD... it's the round black Frisbee-looking deal Ginger is holding here... place it on the turntable... TURNTABLE... well, kinda like the one in the microwave, yes, but... different...

...and of course, Ginger ALWAYS had the cutting edge audio equipment of the day... wish I had this radio... hm? What's that? yes, RADIO... it... picks up waves from the air and amplifies it through a speaker box... ...well, no, you just listen to what they are playing at the time... shuffle? no no... well, Shuffle Off to Buffalo every now and then, perhaps... MP3?  well, not sure what MPs have to do with radios, unless you were stealing one, and you were IN the military... ...um... aren't you late for Star Wars or something, kid?

...well, let's get back to the original theme here... DRUMS...
...here's another GingerPainting, this time with... DRUMMERS! well less than twelve, but... still a pretty hip image...

...some of you hip kids out there may remember THIS dude, from the musical pop band 'Cream'... he wasn't much to look at, but he could pound the skins VERY well...

...for me, however, THIS is by FAR the best use of a drum I've seen...

Well...

That's it.

TWELVE Days of GINGER are complete.

We here at Gingerology hope you have enjoyed the posts... they were a lot of fun to compile, and got me back in the GingerGroove, no doubt...

AND, we also wish all of you and yours out there a MOST prosperous, joyful, merry, reflective, momentous, safe, and, of course, GINGERY... Christmas as well as any other seasonal holiday/observance you partake in...

KIG, Y'ALL!!!

...On the Eleventh Day of GINGER... ...on GINGEROLOGY...

...ELEVEN Pipers Piping...

well... of course this implies a musical theme, but... we have one more day left, so... let's go THIS route here instead... what is 'piping'? Well, you channel water through a pipe, but we've had the swimming deal as well (see Day SEVEN)...
...here's a thought... bakers perform a procedure whilst administering frosting upon a cake which they refer to as...piping...
...of course, some piping is more devastatingly beautiful than others... (thanks to Arianna for sharing her awesome birthday cakes over time...)

...cake... ...food... ...I think we have our 'theme' here...

...of course, all food conversations relating to Ginger HAVE to begin with... ICE CREAM!!! We've had quite a few posts over time regarding Ginger's love for the frozen confection... with the biggest issue being what her favorite flavor was... after a lot of theory and conjecture, we obtained the answer from a VERY reliable source... she truly didn't have one, but leaned toward vanilla... as we see here. Of course, it's awesome because you can use it as a 'base' for pretty much any other flavor you wish to top it with... our girl is SO brilliant!!!

...of course, ice cream buddies up well with pie... and Ginger could crank those out as well, naturally... she's mean with a knife, let me tell ya...

...there are times when it's good just to sit in a nook of a ledge (careful, Ginger!!!) and just sip on some moo juice... hey, didn't we have a lactose-themed day a few days back?

Corn's good... Corn's GREAT...

...is this lady bringing Ginger's food to her, or is she just passing by grabbing something? She sure doesn't look like a 'carhop' or whatever they used to call them...

...If I weren't already set as Ginger's Eternal Cabana Boy, I'd apply for the Ginger's Grape Peeler gig... heck, I can always moonlight... well shoot I reckon, y'all...

...dig the upright toast holder going on here... I always thought it was a bit funny to see Ginger with breakfast in bed, knowing how "up and at 'em" she was... but she played the part of Queen Linda pretty convincingly...

...I always thought they used twins to hawk Doublemint Gum... of course, if there was EVER an exception, it's Ginger of course...  maybe they should have sponsored Ginger's TV show, given its 'twin Gingers' theme...well, if it would have ever taken off... too bad we weren't all around back then, at least as powerful Nielsen voters... I remember we did a Nielsen thing one week back in the 70s... Ms. Tremont just let me fill it out however... as I was 8 or 9 years old, tops, so my votes were dominated by animated cartoon shows... which they probably STILL would be...

...not sure if the Ginger's restaurant / grill / bar whatever is still in the hotel (DoubleTree, perhaps?) in Times Square... If we have any Gotham Gingerologists, it would be nice to get info on this... I'd dig one of the plates from the place, no doubt...

...what better way to end a food post than with good ol' donuts! and here is a BIG bowl of them being presented to Ginger by Mary Carlisle (who looks a LOT like Harlow in this pic)...

...well, let's see... we are ALMOST home, Ladies and Laddies!!! The TWELFTH and final Day of GINGER will be posted tomorrow, on Christmas Eve... I planned to finish on the 24th, 'cause I know most folks will be doing the Christmas thang on the 25th, right? SO, until tomorrow...

...On the Tenth Day of GINGER... ...on GINGEROLOGY...

...TEN Lords-a-Leaping...

...well, 'leaping' is more or less dancing, right? And there's truly only ONE 'Lord of the Dance', and he just HAPPENED to appear in TEN motion pictures with Ginger! (see what I did there?)...so here ya go... in no particular order...

...some feller from the past once said, "What is understood need not be discussed..."

well, onward to ELEVEN...dang, we're almost there, y'all!

...On the Ninth Day of GINGER... ...on GINGEROLOGY...

...NINE Ladies Dancing...

...well, heck... THIS one's pretty easy...

...yupyupYUP!!!

...now, for another angle to this day, check THIS out:
...this is one of Ginger's many incredible paintings... alas, only eight ladies, but... if there were NINE, I think I'd have been a bit freaked out...

Well, not much verbiage for this one (probably a GOOD thing...) ...so with that, hope y'all are having a great time, and as we start this 'final week' before Christmas, hope all the "hay is in the barn" regarding your preparations... and no stress! This is to be a time of joy, peace, thanks, and reflection...NOT stress and worry.

Until day TEN...

...On the Eighth Day of GINGER... ...on GINGEROLOGY...

...EIGHT Maids-a-Milking... hm... well the obvious response is THIS...
...but we've had a few recent posts on that issue, so... let's go another route, shall we?

...these are getting harder the higher up we go...

Ok - Howzabout... just Ginger with a bunch of other folks or... stuff surrounding her?

...like for instance...
multiple folks  (at least eight) hanging around Ginger on her birthday... I think the funny part of this one is the lady on the right, who looks like she is being smushed by the dude behind her who is trying to get closer to Ginger... sort of an 'inadvertent photobomb'...

...here's a Honey of a pic... with lots of folks congregated around Ginger and Fred just doin' their thang in Rio... the genesis of the 'Great White Set'...

...cute pic of Ginger and a fair amount of assorted dolls... This of course ties in with the Yuletide theme here...

...and here's another one for the Season... ...it's hard to explain duplicity of Santas to the young uns, but maybe this was a Holiday episode of 'To Tell The Truth' or something... or maybe "What's My Line?" ...which means at least ONE of these dudes had to be a Cerf, right? (Only HARDCORE G-ologists will understand...)

...Here's our girl with some other stars (see if you can pick them out on the front row), along with a college football team... can't place WHICH college, but I'm thinking it's a Ivy League school... I know some of y'all out there have all the info for this one...

...Ginger with a mess o' fish... I really would have loved to go fishing with Ginger... I'm not much of a fisherman, but... would really be a great opportunity to ask her mucho questions... ...but then again, that's probably why she enjoyed fishing, to get AWAY from questions...

...this is from some deal they had for Ginger in Fort Worth, I believe (note the hats)... again, I should REALLY write down the details for these... but she's QUITE the center of attention here... and the Shirley Temple wannabe in the front has a birds-eye view of the proceedings...

Well, this post was a bit of a mish-mosh, I guess, but... hopefully still a fun exercise...

Getting even CLOSER... Old No.9 rolls around tomorrow...

Until then...

KIG!
